MindFence

Apps that go quiet when you get home.

MindFence blocks distracting apps by context rather than by clock. Where you are. Who you're with. Not a timer you'll cancel at 9pm.

How it works

Save a place. Write a rule — social and news are off when I'm home after six. Your phone handles the rest, on its own, whether or not MindFence is open, and whether or not you force-quit it.

Rules come in strengths. Some you can walk through and it says so on the wall. Some make you wait thirty seconds first. And some you can't end until you leave — because a rule you can cancel the moment it becomes inconvenient is a suggestion.

Two people

Pair with a partner and a rule can depend on both of you being somewhere together. What crosses between the phones is the word "home" and a yes or no. Never a coordinate, never an address, never a map. Neither phone can block the other's apps — you each set your own rules, and the other person is one of the conditions.

Your data never leaves your phone

Everything MindFence knows — your rules, your places, what the walls did — is written on your phone and stays there. Used on your own, it sends nothing anywhere. Pair with someone and exactly two things cross: the name you chose to show them, and whether you're inside a place you both named.

No accounts. No advertising. Nothing sold, nothing shared, no analytics SDKs, no third-party code in the app at all. The privacy policy is short because there is little to say.
